Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator in the manufacturing industry. This position is based in Homer, Michigan, United States. As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing and coordinating the technical health and safety activities within our facility. You will develop and maintain control and auditing systems, provide leadership to employees to encourage a safety culture, and enhance safety skills.Responsibilities: Perform and coordinate detailed technical health and safety activities associated with the facility’s daily functions Develop and maintain appropriate control and auditing systems Provide leadership to employees to promote a safety culture Maintain knowledge of OSHA & MIOSHA standards and apply those standards to the facility Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with regulations Promote effective communication between supervisors & employees to ensure all are informed and working together Support and assist HS Manager with strategic planning for the development and use of specific awareness programs Maintain and update safety policies and procedures while monitoring compliance to legal and other requirements Communicate the performance of the EMS to employees Maintain and improve the EMS in accordance with the requirements of the International standard Collect data and information for tracking progress on programs or other applications required for compliance or audits Support HR functions and training activities. Requirements Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Health and Safety Coordinator role within the manufacturing industry. Proficiency in CAD Software and Database management is crucial. Familiarity with EO/IR systems and EXPRESS is required. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations is a must. Experience in Auditing, Compliance, Construction, and Facility management is necessary. Ability to handle Injury prevention and management at the workplace. Strategic thinking skills, including Business Strategy, Content Strategies, Implement Strategies, Learning and development strategy, and Long-term Strategy. Strong innovation skills and the ability to solve problems creatively.
