Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineering Manager highly influences the success of our team and ability to deliver beyond our customers’ expectations. Within this role, you will grow and guide the Mechanical Engineering team, collaborate with other departments, drive improvements, and provide leadership to the Mechanical Engineering team. This will be accomplished through strong resource management, continuous mentorship, training of individual team members, setting goals, monitoring work, motivating, and evaluating team performance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Directly manage your team through leadership, mentoring, and trainingLead collaboration cross-functionally with all departmentsPlan, direct, organize, manage, and improve company processesServe as technical expert and teach your team to identify risk in advance and provide solutionsSupport project managers with customer service, runoffs, planning, and status reportingAttend project kickoffs, assign projects, and schedule resourcesSupport quoting team by giving input on concepts, hours, and material costsResponsible for meeting or exceeding quoted budgetsResponsible for managing current/future staffing needsLead team meetings to inform team of workload, hours, and company updatesLeadership Expectations:Contribute to a positive company culture by establishing trust, encouraging high performance, and rewarding positive behaviorsStrive to achieve highest level of performance from team members as it relates to individual abilityConduct performance reviews for team members by using performance data to measure productivity, efficiency, and utilization to determine areas of improvementSet employee expectations, provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to insure employees meet company expectationsDemonstrate commitment to upholding highest standards of safety, on time delivery, and quality of productsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification (Vocational education preferred)3-5 years of experience in managing teamsExperienced in the design of machinery and fixturingProficient in computer skills, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office, ExcelStrong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with varying prioritiesStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated technical aptitude with focus on safety and qualityProven ability to accept and give direction, set expectations, and hold team members accountable to meet timing, budget, and customer expectationsTravel minimum 20% may be required domestically and internationally
