Description We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the provisioning and maintenance of VoIP related products and services. You will serve as an escalation point of technical support for our national voice services platform. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Serve as a primary escalation path for field agents with VoIP related dispatches and trouble tickets Monitor network devices, interfaces, and trouble tickets, providing continuous monitoring for problems impacting our customers voice services Troubleshoot issues with our voice services and update call paths Maintain active communication with our customers, on-site technicians, carrier service providers, and work directly with our Technical Support Engineers and VoIP Engineers to support and troubleshoot our voice platforms Contact carriers and vendors to open new trouble tickets, schedule dispatches and stay up to date on existing trouble tickets Respond to customers in an expeditious and detail oriented manner regarding service troubles or call path changes Coordinate proper installation and configuration of voice service components Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain VoIP systems Demonstrate knowledge with telephone networks – POTS, VoIP, and TDM Display familiarity with telephony standards and protocols – H.323, MGCP, ISDN, SIP, RTP Work well in a team-oriented environment, successfully completing individual tasks and providing superior customer service. Requirements Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Telecommunications Specialist Proficient in Cisco Voice Over Internet (VoIP) Familiar with various VoIP systems Knowledge in IP Telephony and Telephony Systems Experience in Network Operation Center operations Skilled in Basic Troubleshooting Familiarity with ISDN and SIP technologies Excellent customer service skills Ability to resolve customer service issues effectively Superior customer service skills are a must Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to customers and team members Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Must have a strong work ethic and be committed to achieving team goals Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Must be able to adapt to changing situations and requirements Must be able to learn new technologies quickly and effectively.
