Michigan International Talent Solutions (MITS) is a state-wide program of the Office of Global Michigan (OGM). MITS is a free job search training program designed to support highly skilled immigrants return to their professional field in Michigan. The MITS program provides free professional job search training, coaching, and access to Michigan employers.
The MITS program is currently accepting foreign professionals with overseas professional experience.
Eligible participants who complete the online training program advance to one-on-one job coaching to learn:
Professional resume development in U.S. format
Assistance completing job applications
Networking and marketing skills to support job search
Interview skills and preparation
Salary negotiation and work with a dedicated staff member to create a working and customizable
resume and cover letter targeted to industry-specific jobs.
In order to qualify for the Michigan International Training Program (MITS) free training program, you must meet all the following requirements at the time of application:
1. Have a Green Card or other permanent work authorization status
2. Have completed a bachelor's degree or higher outside the US
3. Have some working experience outside the US
4. Lived in the US for less than five years
5. Possess computer skills and intermediate English language skills
6. Highly motivated and able to participate in online or in-person training programs
7. Must be currently residing in Michigan at the time of your application
