Fleet Mechanic / Shop Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and/or oversee scheduled maintenance on trucks (diesel and gas) and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair small engines
- Handle basic truck repairs (e.g., brakes, brake lines, exhaust, etc.)
- Maintain and repair snowplows (e.g., hoses, electrical wiring, hydraulics, etc.)
- Create maintenance schedules for all fleet equipment
- Maintain maintenance schedules and records for all fleet equipment
- Manage parts inventory (filters, oil, blades, belts, etc.)
- Ensure all tools and machines meet Company Safety Standards
- Ensure all fleet equipment is ready for daily operations as needed by each Crew
- Maintain SDS logs and shop inventory summaries
- Keep shop/work areas clean, stocked, and organized
- Support other departments (snow removal, lawn maintenance, etc.) as needed; note: winter will involve being on call for snow removal/repairs as well as some snow removal responsibilities
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift at least 50 lbs. frequently
- Stand for extended periods
- Work in all weather conditions (hot/cold/extreme)
- Operate power equipment, power tools, and large trucks and equipment
- Traverse uneven terrain and perform frequent bending/kneeling
- Work extended hours when needed
- Ability to work around chemicals such as weed killers, fertilizers, etc.
- Work, multitask, and function in a fast-paced environment
- Follow all Company Standards, Guidelines, and Procedures
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience
- Truck and small engine repair skills
- Experience in maintaining landscape or industrial equipment
- Familiarity with heavy equipment and/or snow removal operations
- Valid Driver's License (Unrestricted/Good Driving Record)
- CDL A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
