About the unit We do more than test for sleep disorders. Our physicians provide ongoing assessment, treatment and monitoring for sleep disorders in children and adults. Among the sleep disorders we treat are insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea and narcolepsy.About Outpatient Clinics Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. Scope of work Applies scientific knowledge / therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. As a team member in delivery of respiratory services, and under medical direction, performs a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups. Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards. Qualifications
Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy required
Two years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education required
LIC-Respiratory Therapist - State of Michigan required upon hire
CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care required upon hire
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross required within first 90 days
