Physician - Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, HDVCH (Per Diem / Casual Employment)

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) is seeking to hire board certified or board eligible child & adolescent psychiatrists on a per diem basis to support our pediatric medical psychiatry unit, opening this spring. This new 12-bed unit will be the first of its kind in Michigan. Coverage opportunities include:

Onsite Saturday & Sunday pediatric medical psychiatric unit coverage - admissions and rounding on current patients

Offsite weekly overnight call coverage

For child psychiatrists outside of our local area we are able to provide support with travel and accommodations. Essential Functions

Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.

Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.

Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.

Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.

Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.

Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.

Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.

Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

Required Bachelor's Degree

LIC-Physician (MD) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or

LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

CRT-DEA Registration - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required

CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
