Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).Essential Functions

Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.

Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.

Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.

Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.

Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Associate's Degree

Hospital experience Preferred

LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or

LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required And

LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required

CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or

CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required

Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Certification

Inpatient or IV experience is a big plus
