Please review the job profile below and apply today!The Nutrition Education Specialist is responsible for developing nutritional strategies within Meijer, creating educational content and programs specific to chronic disease states, serving as a nutrition consultant for other areas of the business including merchandising and marketing, and providing dietitian services to customers. This position will collaborate to serve as a representative of Meijer Health and to drive knowledge, sales, loyalty, and health improvement among Meijer shoppers.What You'll be Doing:

Use considerable knowledge of the principles of medical nutrition therapy and apply that knowledge to developing evidence-based nutrition education.

Use in depth knowledge of current trends and professional practices in clinical dietetics and ability to apply knowledge

Knowledge and use of human behavior and techniques for effective behavior changes.

Provide face-to-face and virtual nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy on a variety of topics and disease states.

Ability to developcontent, educational materials, presentations, etc., related to basic nutrition, weight management,diabetes management, and other requested nutrition topicsfor key partners and Meijer shoppers.

Maintain up to date professional knowledge and participate in continuing education and personal development activities.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with peers,vendorsand other key partners.

Develop and maintain successful business relationships with merchandising teams by showing value as a health and wellness expert and advisor.

Work directly with department directors, category buyers, and marketing specialists to advise on key nutrition topics and trends with impact on retail business.

Maintain state licensure status (if applicable).

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

Master’s Degree in dietetics preferred (health education, human nutrition or related field).

Registered Dietitian.

5-8 years of professional experience preferred with clinical experience and education.

Experience with and/or knowledge of meal planning and medical nutritional therapy for chronic disease states.

Consumer communication skills both written and verbal.

Project management.

Social/digital media experience.

Some travel may be requiredto presentations, trade shows and educational events.

Office computer skills; able to learn company systems and tools, preference for Microsoft application experience.

Enthusiasm and passion for empowering patients to live better, healthier lives.

Planning and organizational skills.

Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple teams.

Excellent presentation skills.
