Reports To: Director, Academic Success ServicesSalary: $60,000Start Date: July 1, 2025Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Instructional Designer to join our team. This position will work closely with faculty members to create engaging and effective courses that align with the Quality Matters (QM) rubric. The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring clear directions, course requirements, and assessment strategies that promote student mastery of learning outcomes. This is a full-time, position with a focus on advancing the University's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through effective instructional practices.Key Responsibilities: Lead course development projects from planning to implementation, adhering to instructional design principles and Quality Matters (QM) standards.

Apply project management skills to oversee the design, redesign, development, and delivery of online courses.

Provide personalized consulting sessions to faculty, offering guidance on course design, content delivery, and assessment strategies through various communication methods (video conferencing, email, collaborative documents, face-to-face).

Work within the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) to build and update courses that ensure high-quality instruction.

Edit instructional materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy of content.

Stay up-to-date with trends and innovations in online learning, technology, and best practices.

Ensure ADA compliance (section 504/508 and WCAG 2.0) in all course materials.

Assist in faculty training and support, championing the effective use of teaching and learning technologies.

Adhere to internal and external regulations, including NCAA, GLIAC, and other role-specific regulations.

Provide exceptional customer service to faculty and students, anticipating and addressing needs.

Uphold the University's cultural values and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Business, or IT).

Minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design, particularly in the development of online courses.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Knowledge of the Quality Matters rubric is strongly preferred.

Experience with online course delivery formats, student-centered learning, and the use of various assessment tools.

Strong research, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Understanding of ADA compliance, intellectual property, and permissions issues.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment with attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
