Description We are searching for a dedicated individual to fill the role of a Customer Service Representative in our team, based in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. This role is a crucial part of our service industry operations, acting as a key point of contact and dispatcher within our school transportation department. You will be tasked with ensuring exceptional customer service to parents, students, and school staff, while efficiently coordinating and dispatching transportation routes. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Efficiently dispatch school buses, ensuring timely arrival and departure to designated locations. Utilize computerized systems to track routes, update schedules, and communicate with drivers. Handle a high volume of incoming calls from parents, school staff, and drivers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally. Collaborate closely with school administrators and transportation staff to coordinate transportation logistics, including special accommodations for students with unique needs. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills to address route changes, delays, and other unforeseen circumstances, minimizing disruptions to transportation services. Cultivate positive relationships with parents and students, fostering trust and confidence in the transportation department's services. Proactively identify and resolve issues, employing effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations with diplomacy and empathy. Maintain accurate records of communication, incidents, and resolutions, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with departmental protocols. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance customer service skills, transportation knowledge, and proficiency with dispatching systems. Adhere to established policies and procedures, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in all aspects of job performance. Requirements Possesses a minimum of one year of experience in customer service or related field Demonstrates strong skills in handling both inbound and outbound calls Exhibits excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer queries and complaints professionally Shows ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and supportive work culture Displays strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and effective customer interactions Shows aptitude in utilizing customer relationship management software and other related tools Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a fast-paced service industry environment Exhibits problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and provide solutions to customer issues Displays a high level of patience and empathy when dealing with customers Shows willingness to learn and adapt to new service protocols and processes as required Demonstrates punctuality and reliability in adhering to work schedules and meeting deadlines.
