Sr. Accountant

Description Robert Half's trusted client is looking for an interim Sr. Accountant consultant in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry, located in Flint, Michigan. The role involves analyzing and preparing financial information, maintaining accounting controls, and contributing to team efforts. This long-term engagement reports directly to the Controller. The day-to-day responsibilities include: Provide financial information through research and analysis of accounting data, and preparation of reports. Prepare asset, liability, and capital journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information on an accrual basis. Document financial transactions and follow accounting procedures for accurate data. Summarize current financial status by collecting information, and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Reconcile and analyze account information. Maintain financial security by following internal controls. Answer accounting questions by researching data. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Maintain company confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Skills: Bank Account Reconciliation. Bank Reconciliations. Foundation Grants. General Ledger. Fund Accounting - Non-Profit.Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry. Strong knowledge of bank account reconciliation and bank reconciliations. Experience with foundation grants is required. Proven expertise in managing a general ledger. Familiarity with fund accounting in a non-profit setting. Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is a must. Must have the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
