The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position.Job SummaryThe Flint School of Management is seeking a Communications Specialist with a background in marketing to develop, coordinate, and implement the marketing plan for School of Management undergraduate and graduate programs. You will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies, enhancing the visibility and reputation of our School. Responsibilities will include collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments, faculty, alumni, and students to align marketing efforts and promote our diverse programs. You will utilize a range of media platforms to create engaging content, maintain communication channels, and manage marketing and communication projects. You will identify and develop compelling stories that showcase the achievements and promote initiatives within the School. Work with unit leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the School of Management programs.

Create and coordinate marketing content for multiple platforms (web, social media, print, advertising, billboards, video, news stories, commercials, CRM/Salesforce, etc.).

Maintain website, catalog, newsletters, faculty handbook, and School of Management social media accounts.

Marketing Communications

Work with unit leadership to build relationships with community partners and alumni, facilitate information sessions, and make presentations to increase the School of Management programs marketability and visibility.

Coordinate the creation and distribution of internal and external marketing and communication materials. Serve on campus-wide and university-wide committees relative to position.

Work with marketing colleagues across UMF units (academic and nonacademic) School of Management events.

Contribute to organization and facilitation of School of Management events.

Provide support for both face-to-face and remote events.

Produce quality photos and videos from School of Management events. Debrief on School of Management events.

Recruitment

Market undergraduate and graduate Business programs including contacting area companies to schedule one-on-one or group meetings to discuss academic program offerings. Also includes attendance at networking events.

Recruit transfer students from community colleges including those with whom SOM has an articulation agreement.

Recruit high school students by establishing classroom visits, participating in college fairs and working with Guidance Counselors or Business club representatives.

Respond to undergraduate and graduate program inquires.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism or relevant field.

3 or more years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or related field that is directly relevant to the job duties of this position.

Familiarity with relevant Social Media platforms, along with demonstrated knowledge of best practices in creating content.

Working knowledge of WordPress, or other content management systems.

Experience creating visual content (photos, videos, etc.).

Experience working with production professionals, including designers, printers, and various media.

Experience utilizing Google Analytics to analyze marketing efforts.

Experience with email marketing software, such as: Constant Contact

Knowledge of web accessibility.

Understanding of responsive websites and how they react on different devices.
