Are you an experienced writer with a background in history, philosophy, the social sciences, or the physical sciences? A current or former teacher of one of these disciplines? Or an advanced degree holder in a related field? If so, then this is the perfect freelance writing opportunity for you.
SuperSummary is a provider of academic study guides that help students understand and analyze the books that they are reading in class. We are looking to expand our offerings by hiring a group of talented writers to create new study guides for a list of nonfiction books.
The details:
Our study guides have a length of approximately 12,000-15,000 words
Standard sections include an overall synopsis, of the book as well as chapter summaries and analyses, discussion of major characters, themes, symbols and motifs, important quotations, and possible essay topics
We offer competitive compensation and typically expect our writers to be able to complete one study guide roughly every 3 weeks
Ideal qualifications:
Education: BA/BS in disciplines such as history, philosophy, the social or physical sciences, or a related field; Masters or PhD strongly preferred.
Teaching experience in these disciplines is a huge plus (although not required)
Extensive previous experience with book analysis and academic writing/editing is a must
Broad expertise as well as the ability to analyze and summarize a variety of books in your field is preferred. Topics and titles we are looking to cover include:

The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson
Letters from an American Farmer by J. Hector St. John De Crevecoeur
