Car Hauler Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Car Hauler, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of vehicles from one location to another. This role requires a strong focus on safety, customer service, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, secure, and unload vehicles onto the transport truck.
- Transport vehicles to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the transport truck and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on the transport truck.
- Report any mechanical issues or delays promptly to management.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns from customers.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle transportation or related field.
- Experience with loading and unloading vehicles on trailers.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and secure vehicles as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Travel is required, with potential for overnight stays.
- Exposure to various weather conditions during transport.
