Requirements:

High School Diploma / GED required; College or Technical Degree preferred

Must have a valid driver’s license

5+ years applied automotive service experience

ASE Certification in A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes, and A6 Electrical with ASE Master Certification preferred

Must be willing to work with hands to demo / install products

Must have an outgoing personality with exceptional presentation skills

Must be willing to travel daily with weekly overnight travel required

Must be willing to submit and pass a background check and drug test

Microsoft office skills are required; Social media knowledge is a plus

Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are a plus!

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Technical Product Specialist (TPS) position is developing business and creating preference for product categories and brands within the Tenneco portfolio. Sales and marketing efforts with existing and prospective customers for the achievement of sales success is the ultimate objective. This position has a special focus on training and presenting Tenneco’s quality brands and products to current and prospective customers.

Customers at the local level will include warehouse distributors, jobbers, professional installers, national tire accounts and retail parts stores.

Additional responsibilities of the position include:

Business planning, servicing, and supporting assigned existing customer base, new business prospecting, competitive changeover planning and completion, selling programs and promotions, working with WD and jobber customers to develop downstream pull programs designed to create demand for Tenneco premium brands, product demonstrations, product training for counter people and technicians and sales blitz activities. A special emphasis and focus on the professional installer and selling / presenting Tenneco premium brands is paramount in this position. In addition, this position is home office based.
