System Administrator – Junior (On-Site) Detroit, MI This position is responsible for efficient and effective general day-to-day system and technical support of end users. This includes managing hardware deployment, software upgrades/installs, imaging computers, and troubleshooting Microsoft applications. It also includes ticket tracking and monitoring through our FreshService ITSM tool. Responsibilities may also include providing support to executives and their administrative assistants, and flawless execution of technology solutions for executive meetings.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and provide computer hardware and software support to customers in person, over the phone and remotely.
  • Manage phone and network infrastructure: Responsible for day-to-day operation of phone and networking infrastructure including call changes, user changes, backups, and troubleshooting. This may include: Installations, set ups and maintaining workstation peripherals hardware, operating systems and networking components.
  • Assist and/or coordinate support with helpdesk, network services, application, and other information systems groups.
  • Support conference rooms and AV systems.
  • Support Town Hall meetings.
  • Coordinate IT purchase requests in accordance with established policies.
  • Participate in weekly operational team meeting.
  • Maintain knowledge of current hardware, software, and standards.
  • Effectively manage service desk requests, incidents and changes with service desk tool.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory.
  • Implement and support strategic IT processes and/or projects per corporate standards.
  • Image PCs through SCCM PXE booting.
  • Provide flawless, efficient and friendly support for executives and their administrative assistants with computer issues, meetings, iPhone deployments, and anything else that arises.
  • Utilize SCCM remote tools and query lookups.
  • May require occasional off-hours support in special circumstances.
  • Possess a “continuous improvement” mindset and look for superior ways to provide surprise-and-delight services.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Must have a positive attitude and a customer-oriented, can-do mindset.
  • Must do whatever it takes to solve a problem or provide service.
  • Must demonstrate above-average attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • A minimum of an Associates’ Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience related to above listed duties and responsibilities.
  • Microsoft certifications, A+, experience would be a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment and exhibit professional written and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel as required and provide after-hours support as needed.

LOCATION
  • Position is located primarily in Detroit campus, with possible occasional travel to Rochester Hills, MI.
  • Position is on-site and in-person.
