Our small veterinary practice is located in Macomb County, MI. We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Veterinary Technician role. In this role, you will work directly with a 40 year experienced veterinarian to provide a wide range of services to our clients and their furry companions. You will coordinate the various aspects of health care and perform routine administrative tasks. Practice is open M-F 9–5 p.m. and Sat 9-noon. No overnights or late hours. On occasion, you may be asked to participate in house calls after hours.
This is a perfect opportunity for an established person in the field, a student just entering the Veterinary Technician field to a retired person looking to make extra money.

In addition, we need a candidate that is self driven and willing to take on any task required with a positive attitude.
Initial wage offered is $15-$17 per hour. Rate will be commensurate with education and experience brought to the business. Please enclose your salary requirements at the time of application.
Required Education / Licenses:
Veterinary Technician. Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, and LVMT) is a plus, but not required.
Equivalent experience in the field will be considered.
A first or second year college student will also be considered.
Covetrus Pulse experience a plus, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory testing and analysis on biological specimens.
Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Perform routine diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing on animals.
Monitor and record animal health measures such as temperature, pulse rate and heart rate.
Prepare radiographs (x-rays).
Prepare and administer vaccines to animals.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of animals for surgery.
Proper sterilization of instruments used for surgery.
Must have a strong constitution to deal with foul smells, bloodwork and deceased pets.
Keep laboratory systems clean and sterile.
Maintain cleanliness, sterilization and organization of all treatment areas, exam rooms and business at-large.
Assist the doctor with SOAP note reports.
Convert paper records to electronic format.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15 - $17 per hour.

Experience:
Veterinary experience: 1 year (preferred), but not necessary.
Equivalent experience in the field will be considered.

Experience dealing with the public is a plus.
License / Certification:
Veterinary Technician Certification (preferred) or equivalent work experience in the field or a candidate that is just entering the field.
