Millwork shop in Warren is seeking a full-time, skilled upholsterer for commercial fixtures, such as custom-built booths and banquettes. Candidate must have knowledge of and experience with upholstery construction techniques, fabrics, vinyl, and leathers, foam and fabric measurement, placement, and design. Applicant must be skilled with hand tools and techniques required in upholstery field. This position requires an eye for detail, shaping, symmetry, and design. It also requires speed, accuracy, and the ability to work well and coordinate with others.
The position requires the ability to:
- Use common upholstery tools.
- Prepare frames for upholstery.
- Work with fabric, vinyl, and leather to upholster fixtures per design drawings.
- Inspect work to ensure upholstered fixtures meet quality and workmanship standards.
The ideal candidate will also:
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Work well in a shop environment.
- Prioritize work tasks and multi-task when necessary.
- Stay organized and detail oriented.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Prior experience in upholstering quality pieces, using an assortment of materials.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to able to push, pull, & carry up to 50lbs, as well as stand, bend, & stretch for long periods of time.
- Ability to be a team player and effectively take direction from shop lead and management.
- Reliable transportation and current driver's license.
This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits. Benefits include insurance, paid vacation, and paid holidays. The starting wage is $20-$25/hour, based on experience.
