Janitorial work involves maintaining the cleanliness and order of buildings and facilities. This includes tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, and disinfecting surfaces. Janitors may also be responsible for restocking supplies and ensuring the overall safety and presentation of the workspace.
Key Responsibilities of a Janitor:
Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing floors, surfaces, and restrooms.
Waste Management: Emptying trash and recycling bins, and disposing of waste properly.
Restocking: Ensuring restrooms and other areas have necessary supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Maintaining Equipment: Cleaning and maintaining basic cleaning equipment like vacuums.
Reporting Issues: Notifying supervisors or managers about safety hazards, maintenance needs, or other concerns.
Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety guidelines and using cleaning products safely.
Maintaining Cleanliness Standards: Ensuring the facility meets cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Inventory Management: Keeping track of cleaning supplies and reordering when necessary.
