Lawn & Snow company looking for a qualified candidate to train to run their own route mowing lawns.
Our trucks run a 1 person crew, so you need to be self motivated and have drive.
Your pay is based on the expectation of being able to complete a standard (Saint clair shores/Roseville/Eastpointe) sized lot at the rate of 3 houses every 2 hours. most accounts are within a mile of the previous account so very little windshield time.
Company average is around $1000 per week. We work a 4 day cut week, typically Monday through Thursday, weather permitting, from 730am to 730pm plus any additional time you'd like to sit down for lunch or dinner, with Friday thru Sundays off.
Our trucks go out with on average 18 properties per day, less if they are larger properties get them done in 9 hours or 12 hours and you make the same amount of money. $1000 a week for 48 hours (12 hours each day) is about $17.50 per hour, factoring in 8 of those hours is overtime which would be paid at time and a half. Do the same work week in 36 hours (rather 9 hours per day) by hustling and working efficiently, i.e. doing 4 properties every 2 hours instead of 3 properties every 2 hours and your hourly rate equates to $27 an hour. A lot of these properties can be completed Safely, with Quality and Efficiency in 15-30 minutes for 1 person. We reward HUSTLE!
If there's a rain out we work Fridays, and if on a rare occurrence that there happens to be 2 rain outs then we tap into a Saturday, the route needs to be completed every week! Our green Season runs from April 1st thru November 14th, then we start fall clean ups after thanksgiving. Snow season is from November 15th thru April 15th. The ideal candidate will have a 1+ years experience in this industry and is comfortable working outdoors in the hot, cold and sometimes wet conditions. Looking for a candidate that has a chauffer's license or CDL without any DUI's and a clean driving record. A background check will be done before full time work is offered. Pay will be hourly for the remaining 14 weeks of green season, and for snow season. If you stick with us, starting with green season 2026 you will offered a year round position with consistent pay all winter regardless of snow work our other employees that have been with us receive a check all year round.

Back up mowers: 2019 exmark radius x 60", 2020 exmark radius with bagger
All whips, edgers and blowers are 2025 Stihl, commercial equipment.

All new hires will be paid at $15 per hour to start. Show you can run a blower with skill, get a raise. show you can run a whip with skill, get a raise. Show me you can run the edger with skill, get a raise. Show you can run the each of the 4 main mowers with skill, get a raise for each one. Show you can safely drive a truck and trailer, get a raise. Each raise increment will be 25 cents per hour that's 8 opportunities to increase your pay, which could be accomplished the first day or week or month depending on the candidate. We aren't looking to hire a helper that makes $15 or $16 or $17 an hour to ride along, We're looking for a foreman that can WORK ON HIS/HER OWN as soon as possible. I'd rather pay you $27 an hour for 36 hours a week than $16 an hour as a helper for 40 hours a week.
Snow work pay, is more per hour than green season. Your first snow season will be running a stand on plow, snow blower, shovel and throwing salt as part of a 2 man sidewalk crew.
We are located near Mount Clemens, however we are a few miles from the closest bus stop so reliable transportation is required.
