Credentialing Specialist

Location: Remote or in person (must reside in the Detroit area)

Duration: At least 13 weeks

Pay Rate: Up to $21/hour

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Manage the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for medical staff and allied health professionals.

Verify primary source credentials and ensure compliance with policies.

Coordinate application processing and reappointment activities.

Maintain the credentialing software database with accurate data.

Serve as a liaison between facilities and the Credentialing Coordination Service (CCS).

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission, NCQA).

Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Provide customer support and handle inquiries.

Requirements:

Experience: 2+ years in prime source credentialing, with at least 1 year in hospital credentialing (outpatient/clinic experience is not acceptable).

Software Proficiency: Must be proficient with MDStaff Credentialing Software.

Credentialing Scope: End-to-end experience with MDs and DOs.

Knowledge: Understanding of relevant state and federal laws (HIPAA, due process).

Work Style: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Availability: Full-time hours; all scheduling conflicts must be disclosed upon submission.

Technical Setup: Must have a router near a power outlet for computer setup.

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files (2-6 completed daily).

Candidates will need to pick up equipment and complete a brief orientation onsite.
