Job Type: Part-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled Line & Prep Cook to join our team at our busy downtown pub. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes and ingredients in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Line Cook Duties:

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and standards.

Ensure all dishes are made to order and presented in a timely manner.

Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.

Follow proper food handling and sanitation guidelines.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality of dishes.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Communicate effectively with team members and management.

Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or head chef.

Prep Cook Duties:

Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for cooking, including vegetables, meats, and sauces.

Assist in assembling and measuring ingredients according to recipes.

Maintain a clean and organized prep station.

Properly store food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

Assist with basic cooking and food preparation under the guidance of the line cooks and chefs.

Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Help receive and stock deliveries, ensuring proper storage and labeling.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or pub.

Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety procedures.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment.
