Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Detroit, Michigan. The role involves assisting in the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, and internal control systems within a professional services environment. The Senior Accountant will also be required to support the year-end close process, engage in ad-hoc projects, and aid in the development of internal control systems.Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budget reports Support the month-end and year-end close process Aid in the development and maintenance of internal control systems Assist in preparing for annual insurance renewals and financial audits Carry out account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner Engage in ad-hoc projects as needed Manage and maintain fixed assets Use automated accounting software for efficient and accurate accounting Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting Contribute to the management of financial statement preparation, budget reporting, and internal control systems. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to handle Month End Close procedures. Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus. Knowledge of accounting best practices and regulations. Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to meet deadlines. High level of discretion and confidentiality.
