Description:1- 1st shift opening 8am- 4:30pm alternating every other weekend and holidays. They will work the holiday if it falls on the day they were scheduled. They will also train on 1st shift. This role will be supporting the Emergency Department specificallyJOB SUMMARYResponsible for duties in support of departmental efficiencies which may include: but not limited toperforming scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception and dischargefunctions. Must obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information. Patient Accessrepresentatives also must employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before,during & after date of serviceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGreeting customers following Standards of Care, provides world-classcustomer service, completes full patient registration at date of service, adheres tofinancial & cash control policies & procedures, thoroughly explains and securesHospital & patient legal forms (i.e., Advance Directives, Conditions of services,Consent for treatment, Important Message from Medicare, EMTALA, etc.). ScanProtected Health Information, create and file patient information packets/folders forupcoming Hospital services. May also assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures(enters data in scheduling system, provide customer with appointment instructions,other tasks as needed).Educates patients about patient financial liabilities, employs proper, compliantpatient liability collection techniques before, during & after date of service, performsHospital cash reconciliation & secured payment entry in adherence to financial &cash control policies & procedures.Secures medical necessity checks/verification in accordance to Centers forMedicare & Medicaid services, verifies insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility,completes assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities, obtainsinsurance authorizations for scheduled & unscheduled Hospital services, andsecures inpatient visit notification to payors.
