TheHenry Ford Health System, Department of Pathology seeks an ABP certified neuropathologist to complement the Neuropathology Section. The successful candidate will have expertise in diagnostic neuropathology and competence in general or subspecialty surgical pathology . The position supports partnerships with clinicians and scientists of the Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute, ranked among the top 10% of neuroscience centers nationally. Its Hermelin Brain Tumor Center provides access to the largest brain tumor biorepository in the U.S. with combined informatics database. Henry Ford is a major participant in the National Cancer Institute's Adult Brain Tumor Consortium, performing innovative phase 1 and 2 clinical trials. The Henry Ford Health is the largest healthcare delivery system in Southeast Michigan. Henry Ford Hospital, the flagship of the health system, is a leading academic medical center featuring the 6th largest U.S. graduate medical training site and the 3rd largest source of NIH funding in Michigan. The Pathology Department is an academic teaching program featuring Lean management and the largest ISO 15189 accredited laboratory system in the Americas. Pathology is a product line overseeing laboratory testing at 5 system hospitals and 30 clinic delivery sites with 40 subspecialized senior staff pathologists and clinical scientists, complemented by 750 technical staff who handle over 12 million clinical laboratory tests and 150,000 anatomic specimens. Pathology’s Center for Precision Diagnostics is a comprehensive NGS Genomics testing service that supports a new $150M precision medicine focused Henry Ford Cancer Institute that opens in 2020. This position will report to the Vice-Chair for Anatomic Pathology and Chief of Neuropathology. Academic appointment is at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
