Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs, has an immediate opportunity for a Commercial Manager at the FPT Detroit Office location. The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing existing relationships while cultivating new ones with suppliers, ensuring smooth operations and optimizing profitability through negotiation and market analysis.Summary Responsibilities:

Oversee and set direction for a team of Account Managers.

Responsible for ferrous and non-ferrous commodities.

Work with operations to develop strategy to process scrap efficiently across various locations to optimize utilization of assets.

Responsible for identifying metrics to drive operational efficiencies to increase profitability.

Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing structures, and potential business opportunities.

Negotiates contracts, pricing, and terms for the purchase of ferrous and non-ferrous metal to maximize profitability.

Understand the customer’s overall objectives and requirements to optimize purchasing strategy.

Work closely with commercial counterparts to regularly to maintain account relationships, advise of new product and service offerings, and obtain product feedback.

Serves as a point of escalation for issues.

Prepares and conducts technical/product presentations.

Participates in trade shows and direct engagement in trade organizations.

Provides feedback to management for future enhancements.

Contributes to the monthly MRO by providing trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, 7+ years related experience, or may consider equivalent experience.

Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.

Willing to join trade organization(s) and engage in industry and/or community activities.

Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Excellent customer oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated track record of solid teamwork.

Ability to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Collaborative; builds and works with teams.

Ability to coach and mentor.

Candidates must be willing to travel as needed to drive business results.

Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
