Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. Candidates who are looking for great career growth potential and a great benefits package will be interested in joining this quickly growing accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle 200+ invoices a week, so we are seeking candidates who are self-starters, with high attention to detail. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Detroit, Michigan area.Key responsibilities
Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
Square bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in diverse ledgers
Corroborate documents and codes
Represent and exude the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
Background working with Automated Clearing House (ACH)
Practical knowledge of Deductible
Microsoft Word experience preferred
Command of Microsoft Excel
Customer service experience desired
Demonstrated knowledge of check processing
Accounting Functions experience highly valued
Disability Benefits experience highly preferred
Adeptness in Microsoft Outlook
Previous experience working with Remit
General familiarity with Collection Processes
Earlier work involving cash applications
Deep understanding of Payment Processing
Good understanding of wire transfer
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
