Position: Sales Engineer
Location: Oakland County
Job Type: Part-time Sales (15 - 20 hours)
About Us: Energy Design Engineers (EDE) seeks retired engineers or sales professionals (10 years of sales experience) to sell and service a growing market. Since 2008, EDE has delivered new technologies to help our clients reduce energy waste. We have a large client base that we are reselling new services and products, and an even larger market is available to sell all our products and services.
What We Sell: Compressed Air software, compressed air leak audits, network lighting controls, LED lighting, solar and battery storage, wireless energy monitoring and power quality correction, HVAC - specializing in heat recovery, and Level 1 and 2 energy audits.
Responsibilities of this Job:
1. Sell our services and products to our target market.
2. Meet the sales goals established for your position.
3. Engage your target market to understand their needs and recommend our services and products. Often, our clients don’t know how we can help, and we pioneer new work based on their current needs.
4. Call on local businesses to sell our compressed air leak audits at no charge (utility pays EDE for the audits).
5. Conduct facility surveys to gather information and data for our engineering team to run calculations. This often means you are on your feet for 2 - 3 hours without a break.
6. Ability to work independently and provide accurate accounting of your time and efforts.
7. You are a quick learner and enjoy learning new products and technologies.
8. Developing your new leads is essential to this position. EDE will provide you with leads once you prove you are successful.
9. Commissioning (programming) new lighting projects using our software
Requirements:
1. Work with the highest degree of integrity and trust with all leads and clients
2. 10 years of professional sales experience or an engineering degree
3. Having a technical mind is important to this position
4. You must be coachable and willing to learn
5. You have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
6. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. You can learn new software
8. We have an effective sales system, and following it is essential to the position's success

$35.00 per hour
