Job DescriptionThis is a contracted appointment that may last up to two years in duration. Paid internships occur throughout the State of Michigan.Duties for this position are to assist as a Laborer for the Clare Welcome Center. Duties include the use of power tools and motorized equipment to assist in the indoor and outdoor maintenance of the Welcome Center. Stock and move boxes of literature and assist with bulk shipments and distribution to the indoor storage areas and displays. Participate in promoting events and assist with safety and health concerns when necessary. Assigned duties to include cleanliness and maintenance of the Welcome Center. Non-routine grounds work to include power washing, scrubbing retaining walls, flower bed, and sidewalk maintenance. General cleanup and upkeep of the common areas, lead workers office, and literature storage areas. Other duties as assigned.Veteran employment opportunities with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) are made possible through funding provided by the Federal Highway Administration.
