The Early Logistics Product Material Handling Engineer will be responsible for the development of initial cost estimates based on available project information, average rack cost for proposed container solution, estimated density, and fleet size based on sourcing assumptions while driving product change on behalf of MLM. The Engineer will represent the MLM organization to a variety of stakeholders from other FCA organizations as part of a dynamic cross-functional team. The selected candidate will identify primary causal factors or opportunities to reduce rack fleet investment cost, increase container density, reduce costs for manpower, logistics and in system damage. The Early Logistics Product Material Handling Engineer's primary factors include Part features reducing density and identify alternatives; variety of assembly level configurations; process requirements reducing density and identify alternatives; sourcing location impact; material flow/value stream impact analysis; complexity impacts; and consolidation and maintenance of rack design information (lessons learned, best practices, benchmarking, design standards, cost weight analysis documentation prior to program launch activities).
