I am forming a video production company and am looking for a partner to go into business with.
I have done weddings, short films, commercials, and looking for someone who has a decent background in cinematography, editing, and sound, as well as drone piloting (I have my Part 107). I'm looking for someone who has been in the trenches and can wear many hats. I have a decent collection of gear and would hope you do too so we can pool our resources and make great films.
I want to do 'the boring stuff' (real estate videos, commercials, corporate, and other narrative pieces). I would preferably like to avoid weddings, but not entirely opposed to it.
In the downtime, I'd love to do short films, and even a low budget feature.
This position is for someone who loves filmmaking and it is more than a paycheck to them. I'm offering to split commission on all projects, split the work, and collaborate on the day of filming. I'm looking for someone in the mid-Michigan area, as I am in Howell, and this is a good home base for travel within Michigan, and surrounding states if need be.
I want to find someone professional, trustworthy, and good natured, committed, and can handle stress. This will obviously start off slow as we get a reputation and a client base.
If interested, please send your reel, you main gear (camera, lenses, audio), your editing program of choice, and if you have a resume of films you've worked on. Also, tell me why you'd be great for this, and some of your favorite movies. Tell me about why you got into filmmaking and how long you've been at it. Also, if you are a good writer, that's a bonus because that's a valuable skill.
