We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry and construction, with a strong focus on trim and frame carpentry. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can read blueprints and schematics, ensuring high-quality finishes in residential and commercial projects. The Finish Carpenter will be responsible for various tasks, including fixture installation, cabinetry, and restoration work. Starting pay and future raises will be based on experience, skill level, and management skills. This job is no limited to the Ann Arbor area, but includes Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. Travel to job sites is required.
Duties
Execute trim carpentry tasks, including baseboards, crown molding, window casings, custom made built-ins, and wainscoting.
Perform frame carpentry to construct and install structures such as walls and roofs.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate project execution.
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks.
Conduct cabinet installation, door hanging, and fixture installation with precision.
Engage in restoration projects, including water damage restoration and mold remediation.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Assist with heavy lifting of materials as required during construction activities.
Requirements
Proven experience in carpentry with a strong background in finish work, preferably 1 year as a qualified Interior Trim Carpenter.
Familiarity with construction estimating and project management principles.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to carpentry.
Knowledge of concrete forming, plastering, siding, roofing, and masonry techniques is preferred.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
