Performs 'guest relation' function that assures the highest standard of care for the patient and family. Facilitates the daily operations of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Ensures an organized and safe environment for patient care. Promotes the personal comfort and convenience of patients and families. Facilitates communication between patients/families and the health care staff to provide a seamless inpatient experience. Facilitate service recovery as needed.

Escort patient families to recovery unit.

Assist with introduction to unit. i.e., welcome patient/families to room, address any questions r/t way finding, phones, TV service.

Routine rounding to ensure the comfort of patients and families.

Run errands for patients and families.

Direct families during an emergency. i.e., displaced roommates, traffic control

Assist with procedure prep including escorting patient to bay, explaining procedure itinerary, and providing hospital gown.

Perform patient attendant functions as needed.

Serve as liaison between medical staff and patient family.

Required Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience in a customer service related field.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.

Ability to walk, stand, lift, push, pull at least 25 pounds.

Excellent organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications

1 year of experience within acute health care setting.

Basic computer skills
