Please send or email your CV, brief statement of research and names/contact details of three references to: Sunny Wong, PhD ( [email protected] ).Job SummaryThe University of Michigan Department of Dermatology invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Research Investigator in our Skin Cancer and Developmental Biology Research Program. We seek a highly innovative and motivated investigator with extensive postgraduate training and experience in skin cancer and hair follicle stem cell biology . This individual will participate in team science investigations aimed at advancing our understanding of skin cancer formation and treatment.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will oversee and design advanced experiments to further our program of research investigating skin cancer and hair follicle development. Working in collaboration with Dr. Sunny Wong (PI) and other faculty, they will:

Assess proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to provide valuable input regarding viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design;

Lead and perform the project, including oversight of workflow and productivity of lab personnel and providing training to them on specific techniques as necessary;

Be responsible for data analysis; and

Participate in preparation of manuscripts/grant submissions/presentations of research findings at relevant national meetings.

Good departmental and laboratory citizenship and collegiality are expected, with participation in departmental committees and/or university service.Required QualificationsApplicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in one of the natural sciences or related field. The applicant must have published at least one first-author developmental biology-related paper in a middle- or top-tier journal (e.g. Science, Nature, Cell, Developmental Cell, Cell Stem Cell, Cell Reports, Nature Communications, Genes & Development, PNAS, Development, PLoS Genetics, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, or equivalent) within the past 5 years.Desired QualificationsWe are seeking applicants with experience in experimental design and development, and in scientific writing for publication and presentation of results, as well as grant submissions. Applicants should have research experience in mouse modeling and developmental biology, as well as excellent general lab skills and familiarity with a variety of basic laboratory techniques.
