Your role will be pivotal in connecting the campus to novel and important use cases that enhance the educational and research experience and operational efficiencies through innovative tech solutions.The Product Engagement Manager will report directly to the Executive Director of Support Services and Emerging Technology.Who We AreInformation and Technology Services (ITS) supports U-M faculty, researchers, staff, and students in their use of technology to teach, learn, research, and work, and be leaders in their fields. Be accountable for engagement and retention outcomes of key product experiences.

Build a strong perspective on priorities by deeply understanding the needs of our business and key stakeholders.

Monitor key trends and the competitive landscape within your product area to identify opportunities

Partner closely with design, engineering, marketing, and data science/analytics to define, develop, launch, and optimize new products.

Define success metrics, measure, and evaluate the impact of product-led initiatives.

Identify opportunities to refine and optimize our product offerings based on product metrics and analysis.

May act as a point of contact between the university and various internally provided technology solution providers, facilitating effective communication and negotiation to achieve desired outcomes.

Implement measures to track and optimize product engagement, continuously assessing ways to enhance the project's impact and adoption across campus.

Report on project progress, challenges, and triumphs to the Executive Director of

Support Services and Emerging Technology, contributing to the university's vision of technological excellence.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or computer science or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in engineering, business, or computer science or related experience.

Ability to cultivate and expand partnerships with campus constituents, identifying avenues to integrate technology in support of academic and institutional priorities.

Serve as the key strategist in aligning project objectives with broader organizational goals to advance the mission of the university.

Experience in overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, academics, research, and administration, to effectively strategize and implement technology-driven initiatives.

Proven capability to provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and innovations that can provide strategic advantages and solve complex challenges the campus community faces.

Proficiency in translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies for varied campus stakeholders.

Success in fostering an environment of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback, analyzing engagement metrics, and adapting strategies to meet evolving needs.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining robust product and stakeholder relationships, ideally in a higher education or similar complex organizational context.

Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively.

Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to articulate value propositions to a diverse campus audience.

Analytical and problem-solving acumen with an ability to track performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

Experience in project management and delivering technology solutions that address real-world challenges.

A deep understanding of emerging technologies and their potential applications in an educational setting.
