If so, working as a Glazier on our team may be the perfect match for you. We're seeking an experienced and skilled glazier who has both technical expertise and practical, on-the-job know-how. You will work in a team-oriented culture with a second set of hands and eyes for you on jobs that require it. You’ll take the lead on your jobs and take jobsite responsibility for doing the work right and treating co-workers and customers with courtesy and respect. You’ll “own” your job and strive to do the best installation, represent the company professionally, and be a great team player!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cutting, fabricating, handling and/or installing glass, mirror, and peripherals (screens). Perform high-quality work with attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot installation and fabrication issues.
- Installation of commercial entrances, storefronts, door hardware, and commercial skylights
- Installation of residential glass shower enclosures
- Install pre-assembled wood or metal frames for doors and windows before glass panel installation using hand tools
- Read and understand blueprints and specifications to know necessary work details, including color, shape, size, type and thickness of glass to be installed, framing location, procedures for installation and knowledge of boom and scissor lifts for installation practices
- Drive trucks to work locations and unload tools and equipment, and use suction cups or other devices to lift out glass panels when necessary
- Cut and remove old and broken glass before installing replacement glass
- Pack loose areas between glass panels and molding or frames with glazing compound, and trim excess material with a glazing knife
- Secure heavy glass panels and mirrors into position
- Interact with customers, project managers, superintendents, and site foremen to promote a professional image
- Other duties as assigned
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- 3+ years working as a glazier - experience installing shower doors, commercial storefronts, insulated glass, table work, screen repairs, flat glass, mirrors, etc.; measure and template glass with some carpentry experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Honesty, strong work ethic, and positive attitude
- Dependable, team player; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Courteous and professional appearance
- Desire to create a positive customer experience
- Excellent hand-eye coordination; detail oriented
- Know OSHA construction jobsite requirements
- Know and understand building and construction methods, materials and tools
- Know and understand mathematics
- Effective critical thinker
- Ability to lift 70lbs
- Valid Driver’s License
- Drug-free
- Pass Drug Test, Background Check, and Driving Record
- OSHA-10 Certified
