Worker owned co-operative business The Compost Co-operative (Greenfield) seeks a driver to pick up residential and commercial food scraps, transport them to local composting facilities, and tip materials manually. The company provides the vehicle and limited benefits, including the equivalent of 2 weeks vacation per year. Previously incarcerated people and others who face barriers to employment are encouraged to apply. For insurance reasons, Compost Co-op is not able to work with people who have restrictions on their movements.
Requirements:
1. Valid MA Driver's License
2. No More than 3 moving violations within the past 7 years.
3. Mandatory criminal background (CORI) check.
4. Drug-free workplace. We reserve the right to drug-test workers while working if we have concerns.
5. Ability to roll wheeled barrels weighing up to 250 pounds and to lift 25 pounds over the head.
Duties:
1. Communicate with team members regarding schedules using Slack app.
2. Interact professionally with customers and team members.
3. Attend co-op meetings and provide input.
4. Wash barrels, buckets, and vehicles.
5. Complete daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
6. Document pickups.
7. Maintain clean work environment.
8. Working hours vary daily and weekly.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 am to 12; Wednesday 8 - 2 or 4 pm.
Job Location: Greenfield, MA and surrounding towns.
