Double Edge seeks an experienced Costumière to join our Costume Department. This position provides organizational support to the Costume Designer, helps purchase materials, build, repair, and maintain costumes, and assists in the upkeep, organization, and cleaning of the costume shop. Hand sewing and machine sewing and basic garment construction experience are needed, as well as strong organizational skills, and enthusiasm for working both independently and as part of a small team. This is a project-based position and requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:
Learning the costume and materials stock and shop organization
Working with and troubleshooting industrial sewing machines, serger, hand sewing needles, irons, and steamers
Pulling costumes from stock, constructing new pieces, and altering for performers
Assisting with costume laundry and daily repairs before and during performance weeks
Tracking supplies and restocking as needed
Tracking and making purchases
Managing and teaching costumes interns and volunteers
