We are seeking a fun and patient Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to help care for an 86-year-old woman with mid-stage dementia.
Our current most pressing need is for someone to take her to lunch on Sundays. She likes Applebees but other nearby restaurants work too. We will pay for your time plus pay for lunch. You will use her car to drive her.
Over time, there are a few more tasks to add besides lunch companion but they are simple such as:
Make sure she has eggs cooked for next day
Check to make sure dinner is ready to be microwaved later
Simple cleaning where obvious
These are all secondary to simply taking her out for lunch. She eats most of her calories at lunch and thrives on the social stimulation of the trip.
She is mostly kind and has a good sense of humor, but can be a bit domineering at times so this job is ideal for someone who can let her "Queen" moments roll off their back.
