Red's Best - A large Seafood Distributor is seeking an experienced driver to pickup Seafood at various boat ramps in the Cape.
Our driver should be local to New Bedford where the truck leaves and returns to each night.
Primary Duties Include:
Loading the truck with fish from the boats , delivering ice to the boats when doing pickups, assisting with WHS duties at our Chatham Fish Pier location when not picking up fish.
Weighing fish for accurate weights when unloading
Filling out Boat Slip paperwork
Load the truck with product from our WHS to delivery to New Bedford office. Unload your truck at New Bedford office
Knowledge of different fish species will be helpful
Pallet Jack and Forklift experience will be Helpful
Experience driving a 26ft Box truck - cleaning driving record over the last 3 years ( NO DUI- no excessive tickets )
Must be able to lift 100 lb ( We pick up bluefin tuna 6 months out of the year and use equipment but need to be strong)
This is an hourly position and realize you will spend about 90 min a day to drive each way between New Bedford and Chatham location which we will pay you for. Knowledge of the different fishing ports in the Cape will be helpful. We drive all the way to P-Town.
Work hours will vary based on weather conditions and boat schedules for coming in for unloading.
Excellent communication skills required
