Nasketucket Bay Vineyard and tasting room opened to the public in April of 2024. It is a fully functioning grape farm and fruit orchard that produces and bottles all the wines sold on-site. The vineyard is currently seeking a reliable and experienced candidate for the part time position of Vineyard Assistant. This position is part time and seasonal from February through November.
Duties for this position are as follows:
Pruning vines and fruit trees
Mowing
Weeding and weed whacking
Spraying
Landscape maintenance
Harvesting grapes & fruit
Planting and light landscape work
Bottling wine
Labeling bottles
Assisting with the wine making process
Assisting with other projects as needed
Required skills and other information:
Experience operating equipment such as zero turn mowers, tractors, ATV’s is necessary for this position, as well as gardening, pruning or landscape experience. Experience using skid loaders is a plus. Candidate must have their own reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and be legally eligible to work in the U.S. The candidate must be able to carefully follow instruction and be comfortable working on their own. The physical requirements of this job include standing, lifting and physical mobility. It is expected that this position would require about 16-24 hours of work a week. However, the hours for this job can be flexible to a certain extent. The tasting room is open to the public Thursday through Sunday and it is preferred that this work is performed Monday through Thursday or before 1 pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The hourly rate for this position is $18-22/hr. depending on experience. There are no additional benefits included with this position.
