EEC Certified Preschool Teacher
Working with children 2 years 9 months to 5 years of age. Duties include running small groups, implementing curriculum, supervision of children, assisting children with personal needs, keeping a neat, organized, and clean classroom environment.
The candidate must be friendly, nurturing, kind, compassionate, work well with others, dependable and possess good communication skills. The applicant should be energetic and enjoy working with preschool children.
Ideal applicants:
Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflicts
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through curriculum and every day experiences (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
Track children’s progress and report to parents
Collaborate with other educators
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with EEC health and safety standards
Skills
EEC Teacher Certificate required
Excellent understanding of child development
Excellent communication skills
Kind, compassionate, friendly, reliable, and punctual
Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Certification in child First Aid and CPR
