South County Respite - Residential Counselor

SalaryUSD $20.00/Hr.Description and ResponsibilitiesOpen Sky's Respite Programs are short-term group living environments that provide treatment of intermittent crisis and stabilization for adults who are diagnosed with a mental health and/or substance use disorder. The goal of the Respite program is to work collaboratively with individuals to develop skills to maintain their independence in the community and live a life that is not defined by their mental illness. The Residential Counselor supports individuals to live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment. Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration. Other Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.

Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.

Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.

Review and complete all required documentation.

The organization recognizes skills, training and population served in certain programs by offering an additional hourly differential. This program has an additional .50 per hour differential for the population served.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.

Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.

Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
