Payroll Accountant

Description Are you interested in a Payroll Accountant position based in Somerville, MA?A health services organization will be selecting a candidate to be an integral part of their team, primarily focusing on payroll and accounting functions. The role entails managing payroll using Paylocity, uploading payroll data into financial software, and assisting with various accounting projects. This position operates within a hybrid workplace environment. Free parking is also provided. Responsibilities: Oversee the entire payroll process using Paylocity. Upload and manage payroll data within our financial software. Provide assistance on a range of accounting tasks. Ensure accurate maintenance and manipulation of data through Excel. Aid in ad hoc accounting projects as required. Collaborate with the fiscal department on various tasks. Resolve any issues related to accounts payable/receivable. Monitor customer accounts and perform necessary actions.Requirements Proficiency in executing complex accounting functions. Demonstrated expertise in using Paylocity software for payroll processing. Significant experience in handling payroll systems and procedures. Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations. Excellent ability to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy in work. Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies in financial data. Excellent communication skills to interact with staff regarding payroll-related queries. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll Detail-oriented would be an advantage. Proven experience in a similar role in an accounting or finance department.
