Description CONTACT:[email protected] are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Sheffield, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, investment accounting, and carrying out general accounting functions. This job is a unique opportunity to contribute to our finance and accounting operations.Responsibilities Oversee the process of maintaining and improving the investment reconciliation process. Coordinate and record investment transactions and maintain investment records. Manage the accurate accounting entries in the General Ledger (GL). Conduct regular audits of fund records to ensure consistency and accuracy of information. Review each fund’s balance sheet and income statements quarterly to ensure the accuracy of quarterly fund statements. Support the Controller with general accounting and financial functions. Ensure accurate investment of each fund by monitoring for the correct investment pools and account balances in each fund. Prepare investment footnote schedules for the audit and provide K-1 and other tax information for the 990 and 990-T filings. Approve complex journal entries and routine accounting entries. Develop and improve investment account reconciliation procedure and cross-train department staff in the process.CONTACT:[email protected] Holds a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge of Institutional Investment, Investment Accounts, and Investment Operations Experience in Fund Accounting Ability to prepare Month-end Journal Entries and other Journal Entries as required Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred CPA certification is a plus.
