About this role: Under the direction of the Visitation Supervisor, the Visitation facilitator observes and collaborates with families at supervised parent/child visits at both the New Bedford and Plymouth centers. Responsible for observing visits between parent(s) and their children. The facilitator may also coach parents with the skills to adapt parenting abilities, including behavior management training.The facilitator will also document all observations, communication, and situations at the visit. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 6 pmThis role works out of our Plymouth and New Bedford offices In this role, you'll get to:
Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and organizations in the community toward meeting community needs and services when requested
Schedule and provide transportation with the Visitation Supervisor’s assistance; this role does require transportation of children to and from the Visitation Center.
Participate in ongoing assessments, evaluations, and providing written and verbal feedback to the family in relation to their visit
Participate in team meetings, case conferences and court appearances upon request
Monitor and provide a safe visitation environment
Ensurecompliance and adherence to the Kennedy-Donovan Center and the Department of Children and Families philosophy and mission statements
Assess family needs while developing safe and helping relationships with assigned individuals
Provide advocacy for families as needed
Collaborate with internal/external resources and community providers to ensure appropriate services
Comply with all KDC and DCF documentation requirements .
We are looking for people who have:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle, required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Service field required
Experience with children preferred
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with children with moderate to severe behavioral concerns
Knowledge of children with special needs including developmental disabilities as well as medical and/or other needs
