Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) is seeking enthusiastic Central Scheduling Team Lead. The Team Lead will lead problem resolution in support of the Central Scheduling staff by developing and maintaining knowledge of all provider schedules and triaging various issues to provide the best patient service and increase practice efficiency.Promotes a positive image of OCB, resolves issues raised by Central Scheduling team by investigating and communicating internally and externally and showing initiative.Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to assist in correspondence. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Skill in operating a computer and copy machine. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, doctors, employees, and the public.OCB Scheduling Team Lead Schedulers are responsible for:

Develops and maintains knowledge of all provider schedules.

Answers Central Scheduling Assistance line for emergencies and resolve urgent appointment needs.

Regularly assists Central Scheduling with phone coverage.

Participates in conducting new hire training for Central Scheduling staff.

Answers and responds to voice mail messages to ensure all scheduling needs are met in a timely manner.

Responsible for administering the “waitlist” by contacting patients when appointments become available sooner to improve patient satisfaction and contribute to efficiency.

Sends out recall letters to patients and communicates status of communications with provider teams to ensure compliance.

Assists with “Add on” requests from the Provider administrative teams in a timely manner.

Assists in rescheduling appointments if physician must reschedule day(s).

Assists with other administrative functions as needs arise within the department

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.

A minimum of 1 year of customer/patient service experience preferably handling high volume of calls from customers/patients.

Significant knowledge of OCB scheduling procedures and a strong understanding of EPIC.
