This company is located in the Norwood, Massachusetts region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity where effort is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.What you get to do every single day
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Participate in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)
Comprehensive knowledge of Quickbooks Online
Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Experience with CPA
Expertise in bookkeeping
