About the Organization: The Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) is responsible for the policy development and budgetary oversight of its secretariat agencies, independent divisions and programs, and several boards which aid in crime prevention, homeland security preparedness, and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors in the Commonwealth. About the Role: The incumbent of this positionmonitors workflow through assigned unit activities to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards andprovides primary support to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Undersecretary of Criminal Justice. Primary Duties: Work closely withthe MPTC and other law enforcement agencies under EPS oversightto supplement future trainings and electives. Integrate bioethical principles into current and future work around law enforcementand criminal justiceobjectives. Explore and support alternative,complementary, and groundbreakingsolutions to current issues within law enforcementand criminal justice. Initiate,facilitate, andmaintaincommunication between different disciplines tosupplementpublic safety. Work closely withtheDOC to supplement future programs. Utilize and interpret data and research to inform projects and initiatives around incarcerated populations and those reentering the community. Assistin projects and initiatives which promotepositive system change aroundhighpriority areas, such asreentry,workforce development, emerging adults,and restorative justice. Promote initiatives around officer health & wellness and training at the DOCby working closely with the Commissioner’s Office and the academy’s training team. Improve outcomes by focusing on issues surrounding emerging adult populations and officer health & wellness. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience. II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
